The primary program for non-citizens is the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI) program. However, as of February 2024, MAVNI is currently under review and might be discontinued.

Eligibility

• You must have a U.S. Permanent Resident Card (Green Card). Joining the military cannot be the sole purpose of obtaining a Green Card.
• You must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• You must generally be between 17 and 28 years old to enlist (18 with parental consent).
